Brief: Chelsea 4 – Blackpool 0

Chelsea’s unbeaten run in this season’s Premiership continued at home after beating newly promoted Blackpool, 4-0, and maintaining our 100% winning start.

New boy Ramires started his first home game, with Chelsea  just too good for an industrious Blackpool side that came to have a go and not go home without a fight, and their supporters came to have a good day out despite the result.

I can see them struggling in the big league, but at least their fans will have a good time!

Chelsea 4-0 up at halftime didn’t manage to break down the Blackpool defence in the second half despite several opportunities to rack up a big score.

John Terry suffered an injury prior to the warm up, and joined his England team mate Frank Lampard in the stands.  Alex partnered Ivanovic in central defence for the first time this season.

Time will tell if both are fit enough to face another promoted side, Newcastle, in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night.
