Spartak Moscow v Chelsea Preview

Chelsea face Spartak (named after Spartacus who led the slave revolt against the Romans!) Moscow in tonight’s early kick off (5:30pm our time) on the plastic pitch where we suffered probably our worst memories in recent years in the Champions League final against the Mancs (albeit it was grass {and mud and rain!} when we played there in 2008)

I’m sure the memories of that night will all come flooding back to those who were there that awful night (inc those diehard supporters that have travelled once again) and especially for John Terry who I have no doubt, will take a long hard look at that penalty spot (and goal post!) again before the game.

Both sides go into the tonight’s match on a maximum 6 points so something has to give, with all our injuries at the moment I wouldn’t be too disappointed with a point come the final whistle.

Hopefully we can continue on from Saturdays second half performance (and not the first half stalemate!) away against Aston Villa where we looked like we wanted a result.
