Brief: Liverpool 2 – Chelsea 0

Chelsea’s mediocre away performances finally caught up with us today at Anfield.  A slow start to the first half saw Liverpool take the incentive, with Torres scoring from close range.  Lots of missed placed passes, and biased refereeing followed.  Towards half time, Ashley Cole dawdled on the ball, lost possession allowing Torres to score Liverpool’s second.

The second half started with Drogba replacing Kalou.  Chelsea upped the pace, and we began to look like the better side, but were unable to find the back of the net despite hitting the crossbar.

With Arsenal losing, and City and United winning, Chelsea are now only two points clear at the top of the table.

Today’s game showed that the team is lacking in depth, as it only takes a few injuries to key players (ie Lampard & Essien) to reduce the effectiveness of the squad.
