Brief: Bolton 0 – Chelsea 4
Once again we headed north up the M6 for our visit to Bolton, this time on a Monday night thanks to Sky and the FA!
Bolton has mixed memories for me, from the awful feeling when we heard that Mathew Harding had died in a helicopter crash, to the euphoria of seeing us winning the title for the first time in 50 years, and now, we share in the memorial for the loss of ex Bolton and England player, Nat Lofthouse OBE.
Having failed to win away from home for the last two months, a positive performance was the least we expected, if only to show that the players actually wanted to get a result!
Many supporters have been questioning Drogba’s constant inclusion in the team despite recent poor performances, well, he answered many critics with a stunning 35 yard strike that flew past the Bolton keeper to put us one up.
Further goals by Malouda in the first half and, Anelka and, Ramires with his first for the club, saw us comfortably ending the game as 4-0 winners and a very welcome away win and 3 points.
Next up, Everton at Goodison Park on Sat lunchtime in the FA Cup.
