Chelsea Welcome Fernando Torres and David Luiz

“Fernando Torres, Chelsea’s number 9!”

After much speculation over the past few days it was confirmed tonight that Fernando Torres is to join Chelsea for a record club signing of around £50M!

It was the news all Chelsea supporters were waiting to hear, and the prospect of seeing Drogba and Torres up front will be something to savour.

Torres began his career in his home country of Spain with Atletico Madrid in 2001, scoring 75 times in 174 La Liga games. He then moved to Liverpool in 2007 where he scored 7 times against Chelsea during that time.

He was also in the Spanish World Cup winning squad of 2010.

We also welcome to the Club, David Luiz from Benfica, the sum is undisclosed at time of writing but is thought to be in excess of £21M plus Nemanja Matić and, will be a great addition to our defence complimenting John Terry, Ivanovich and Alex.

Luiz joined Benfica in January 2007 and played his first game in March of that year. In the season 2009-10 he made 49 appearances scoring 3 times in the Portuguese League.

Welcome to Chelsea ‘David Luiz’ and ‘Fernando Torres’, (and a hat trick on Sunday would do nicely please Fernando!)

Please sing this song everywhere you go and especially when we play Liverpool next weekend. The song was first heard at Goodison Park vs Everton

He’s now a blue he was a red – Torres! Torres!
He’s left The Kop to join The Shed – Torres! Torres!
He didn’t want to be be a scouse,
He hates it when they rob your house
Fernando Torres – Chelsea’s new number nine!
They thought he’d always be a red – Torres! Torres!
You’ll never walk alone he said – Torres! Torres!
They bought the lad from sunny Spain,
He scored a few then grew a brain
He told the club he wants to leave,
To play with Frank instead of Steve
Fernando Torres – Chelsea’s new number nine!
