Brief: Copenhagen 0 – Chelsea 2

Nicolas Anelka 'double' puts Chelsea in prime position in the tie

Chelsea returned to Champions League action tonight away at Copenhagen for the first leg of the knock out stages.

Although on paper this looked like a formidable task, after our recent run of results no-one was taking anything for granted, but in the end Chelsea looked very comfortable against our Danish opponents.

Nicolas Anelka, playing alongside Fernando Torres up front, scored both goals on 17 and 54 minutes and took us into the second leg looking likely to go through to the next stage of this years competition.

Next up, Manchester United on Tuesday night in the Premier League, a game that could make a huge impact on the title this season
