Video report here

An Everton fan who donated bone marrow has met the Chelsea fan whose leukaemia was treated with his donation.

Andy Mitchell, from Merseyside, donated bone marrow tissue in 2008 that was a match for Paul Walshe, who was seriously ill with leukaemia.

Paul, who lives in Hammersmith, decided he wanted to get in touch with his donor, who is usually anonymous, to say “thank you”.

The two football supporters were guests of Everton Football Club at the team’s final Premier League fixture of the season against Chelsea.
