Brief: Stoke City 0 – Chelsea 0

Chelsea went to ‘The Britannia Stadium’ for the opening game of this season’s Premiership against Stoke City.

New manager Andre Villas-Boas, along with the travelling support, were looking for 3 points to get us started in the way we have been accustomed and to settle everyone down to the job in hand.

Pre Season had seen Chelsea with a 100% record and looked good to maintain this, and all bar scoring, it looked a very good performance from the players who, apart from the disappointing Kalou and Malouda, were well up for it and just needed a goal to top off what was a promising start to the new campaign

Villas-Boas has a habit of starting a bit slowly, I’m sure once he has a full squad to choose from, and the transfer window closes and the team are settled, then better things will come, starting hopefully next Saturday for the 5:30 kick off at home to West Brom.
