Agree with comments re Mata.
Would hate him to leave but Jose wont play him unless he comes around to JM’s way of playing.

The Joe Cole situation was different to this.
The issues with him were as much to do with the showboating flicks and tricks in bad areas of the pitch as they were to do with the defensive side of the game.
It’s all very well for Jose to hint about certain things but the reality is that Mata has started 2 games, one where he was clearly nowhere near match fit. I’d say that bar the first half against Hull, Everton away was our best performance going forward with Mata as the number 10. We didn’t concede the goal because of Mata that day but it’s him Jose seems to want to single out.
If he has doubts about him as a player then fine. It’s not an opinion I agree with but I’m not the manager. One thing that is out of order though is the humiliation tactic of leaving him out of the squad altogether. Mata certainly doesn’t deserve that.
