What an enjoyable read – it helps that I agree on every point, too, but that was the best Chels article I’ve read for a while.

Only two things I would emphasise.

While its true that any win over Citeh is excellent, especially given the way they fought back and dominated for a long period in the second half, Liverpool were by no means as “worthy” winners as the press would have us believe.

City’s missed chances, Suarez’s nonsensical non-sendings-off and a blatant penalty not given added to the usually-reliable Kompany’s performance and a host of minor occurances testify to a narrow win by Liverpool, almost, just about, so nearly warranted.

Secondly, there is no way Chelsea will be distracted by anything. We haven’t been in the past – we’ve been through this before and more than once. Past performance may not be an absolutely reliable signpost to the future, but it sure as hell gives us all a fair indication of what to expect.

In other words, if one of the Big Three are going to crack under the pressure, it is not going to be club from Stamford Bridge.

Thanks again for the brilliant read 🙂

  • Aww thanks, Bluebrain, your cheque is in the post. You’re right. We don’t tend to crack at this time of year. We’re not called Arsenal! The media think we will be too focused on the Champions League. This is just wishful thinking on their part. Most media luvvies are just gushing about Liverpoo and mad keen for Liverfools ‘imminent’ success. Let’s ruin the party.

  • I’ll be very mad if Pellegrini (old navy) wins this league for city. if we can’t win it then it’s better Liverpool wins it

  • according to the sun s panel of ‘experts’ 6 out of the 7 with the exception of rob beasley expect the crown to be at shamfield, apparently they have now taken to surrounding their heroes team bus as they approach the stadium, oh dear! i Will be one of the 3000 hardcore Chelsea souls at the game on sunday week and its imperative that we all get behind the team and sing as loudly as we can before and during the game, I also sensed an atmosphere of nervous anxiety and tension during the city game at anfield so lets hope the Chelsea players take advantage of this, its going to be a completely different atmosphere there to the 2005 champions league semi final, as the scousers will be bricking it i believe!!

  • Liverpoo. Liverfool. ManUre. Manchester Mercenaries. Shamfield. MY EYES! MY EYES!
