James strike is February’s best

Lauren James has won Chelsea’s February Goal of the Month award, for her incredible solo effort against Tottenham.
The Chelsea striker netted a beauty against our London rivals last month and has deservedly claimed the top prize in our vote, with the strike also picked as the WSL’s Goal of the Month for February too.
Picking the ball up on the right-hand side, James drifted infield and continued her run into the Spurs penalty area, skipping past three attempted challenges before nestling the ball perfectly into the far corner to restore our lead.
Lauren’s effort was comfortably our winner, earning 70 per cent of the vote, with Joao Felix’s goal against West Ham in the Premier League coming in second place.
Third spot went to James’s team-mate, Fran Kirby, who found the net against West Ham Women in our incredible 7-0 rout.
