Chelsea men’s team loans January 2025
Alex Matos
Midfielder Alex Matos joined Championship side Oxford United on loan until the end of the season, returning to the Championship where he spent the second half of 2023/24 with Huddersfield Town.
Max Merrick
Goalkeeper Max Merrick completed a loan move to National League South side Hampton & Richmond. Merrick featured prominently for our Under-21 side earlier in the campaign.
Jimmy-Jay Morgan
Nineteen-year-old Jimmy-Jay Morgan will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Gillingham in League Two. He made his debut for the Gills in a draw at Tranmere.
Renato Veiga
Renato Veiga, who joined the Blues in July from FC Basel and made 18 appearances in all competitions this season, will spend the remainder of 2024/25 on loan at Serie A side Juventus.
Chelsea men’s team departures January 2025
Kai Crampton
Academy goalkeeper Kai Crampton completed a permanent move to Bournemouth. Crampton joined Chelsea at Under-8 level and progressed through the ranks at Cobham, featuring for our Under-18 Premier League South-winning side last season.
Zain Silcott-Duberry
Zain Silcott-Duberry joined Bournemouth on a permanent deal. The forward arrived at Cobham from Norwich City as an Under-13, progressing through our Academy before signing his first professional contract in August 2022.
Chelsea men’s team loan returns January 2025
Aaron Anselmino
At the start of January, Aaron Anselmino returned from a loan spell at Boca Juniors, having made 18 appearances for the club he developed at in Argentina before signing for the Blues in the summer of 2024.
Eddie Beach
The Welsh Under-21 international was recalled from his loan spell at Crawley Town, for whom he had played twice.
Luke Campbell
The 19-year-old goalkeeper returned from his loan at Hendon in the Isthmian League Premier Division. He played 31 times during his time at Silver Jubilee Park.
Trevoh Chalobah
The defender was recalled from his loan spell at Crystal Palace and given the no.23 shirt. Chalobah played 14 times for Palace and scored three goals in the first half of the campaign.
Ted Curd
The England Under-19 international kept nine clean sheets in 22 appearances for Hampton and Richmond Borough before being recalled.
Gaga Slonina
The American goalkeeper returned from Barnsley, for whom he made 14 appearances in the first half of 2024/25 before injury struck in late October.
Ronnie Stutter
The Academy striker was recalled from his loan at Burton Albion after injury hampered his involvement with the Brewers.
Chelsea Women’s team signings January 2025
Naomi Girma
We secured the capture of highly-rated USA international Naomi Girma from San Diego Wave on 26 January. The defender signed a four-and-a-half-year deal and will wear the no.16 shirt.
Femke Liefting
The 20-year-old Dutch goalkeeper signed a three-and-a-half-year deal from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar on 31 January.
Chelsea Women’s team departures January 2025
Eve Perisset
Eve Perisset departed Chelsea to pursue further playing opportunities at the end of January. The 30-year-old defender leaves the Blues after two-and-a-half years during which she won two Women’s Super League titles and a FA Cup.
Charlotte Wardlaw
The 21-year-old Academy graduate completed a permanent move to Newcastle United in the Championship having been recalled from Sheffield United. Wardlaw played three times for our senior team before embarking on a series of loan spells.
Chelsea Women’s loan departures January 2025
Julia Bartel
The 20-year-old midfielder joined fellow WSL side Liverpool on loan for the rest of the campaign. The Spaniard made her debut for the Blues in a 3-1 win against Twente, having signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2024.
Alejandra Bernabe
Alejandra Bernabe will spend the remainder of the 2024/25 season at Liverpool after joining the Merseyside club on loan on January 31.
Aimee Claypole
Aimee Claypole spent the first half of this season on loan in Sweden, scoring three times in nine games for Linkoping. The 19-year-old striker subsequently moved on loan to Durham in the Championship.
Greta Humphries
After playing seven times for Bristol City in the first half of the 2024/25 campaign, Greta Humphries returned to Chelsea and joined Charlton, also in the Championship, on loan.
Aniek Nouwen
Will spend the remainder of the 2024/25 season on loan with fellow Women’s Super League side Crystal Palace.
Louna Ribadeira
The 20-year-old forward was recalled from her loan spell at Paris FC, where she scored once in two appearances in the first half of the campaign, before heading to Everton for the remainder of the campaign.
Lucy Watson
Lucy Watson returned from a loan spell at Southampton and will now spend the remainder of the 2024/25 season with Ipswich Town in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.
Chelsea Women’s loan returns January 2025
Brooke Aspin
Brooke Aspin played six times for Crystal Palace, including four games in the WSL, before sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in November while on international duty with England Under-23s.
Jorja Fox
An anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in pre-season meant Jorja Fox was unable to play for Crystal Palace before returning from her loan spell in south London.
