Peter Bonetti Memorial Service

From the official Chelsea FC website:

Chelsea Football Club can confirm our intention to hold a memorial service at Stamford Bridge for the great Peter Bonetti.

Our legendary goalkeeper, who was between the posts for some of our most historic matches and has the second-most all-time appearances and clean sheets for the club, passed away at the weekend.

The full details of the service will not be announced until the measures in place to counter the coronavirus pandemic make it possible for us to do so, but supporters will have the opportunity to attend and invitations will go out to team-mates of ‘The Cat’ and others from the football world for this celebration of his life and career.

It was Peter’s wish that his remains be laid to rest at Stamford Bridge, as were those of his great friend and colleague Peter Osgood in 2006, at a memorial service during which the former goalkeeper was one of those paying tribute.
