New UHF earpieces available for matchday use at Stamford Bridge
From the official Chelsea FC website:
We are delighted to inform Chelsea supporters we now have new ultra-high frequency earpieces for matchday audio commentary at all men’s home fixtures, ensuring our blind and partially sighted fans can experience each game in the best possible fashion.
The new UHF earpieces provide commentary at real time with no delay, so our supporters can keep up with the action as it unfolds at Stamford Bridge.
This service will be available from the Bournemouth fixture on Tuesday 27 December. Applications will start on Tuesday 29 November.
There will be 10 units available for blind and partially sighted supporters to provide them with matchday commentary. In order to obtain one of the units, supporters will need to contact the access team on either 0371 811 2012 or by emailing access@chelseafc.com to make an application.
To secure the unit, a deposit of £50 will need to be taken in advance of the matchday. Supporters will need to collect the earpiece from the ticket office on the matchday. A disclaimer will need to be signed upon collection. Each deposit will be returned to the supporter after the unit has been returned to main reception in the Shed End.
Headphones can be provided for the units, but your own headphones that have a 3.5mm jack can also be used.
