Free Lionesses: Gearing up for World Cup 2023

It’s going to be a busy summer for fans of the Lionesses as the team heads to Australia and New Zealand for the 2023 Women’s World Cup – and the FSA will be making the long trip down under to support fans following the team.
Much like recent international women’s tournaments, our Free Lionesses will be on hand to ensure you all have a safe and enjoyable time via our Fans’ Embassy service.
Fans’ Embassy service
Our Fans’ Embassy is a free service provided by the FSA for fans following the England national team.
The Fans’ Embassy service has been in the men’s game for the best part of three decades but we’re now pleased to have it well-established in women’s international football too. This summer will be the third tournament the Free Lionesses will be present at and on hand to help.
The service means England fans will have designated locations in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide to visit for help and advice surrounding matches at the Women’s World Cup.
Travelling around those group game cities the Free Lionesses team are able to offer a friendly check-in point, as well as emergency contact details just in case.
Free Lionesses guidebook
We’re pleased to announce that we have a special World Cup 2023 guidebook in the works which is being pulled together once again in partnership with SheKicks and will feature all the usual information that matchgoing fans need to make the most of the tournament.
Our Free Lionesses guidebook has been put together by football fans like you, for football fans like you and follows our successful guides produced for the 2019 World Cup in France and Euro 2022 campaign.
We’ll have hard copies available for supporters making the trip to Australia and New Zealand, as well as a full digital version for those back home.
Currently the guidebook is on track for release in early-July – so keep an eye out for that!
Community meet-ups
Beyond the serious business of Fans’ Embassy services and guidebooks, our Free Lionesses team will also be arranging social and community meet-up events for fans.
Free Lionesses’ Deborah Dilworth said: “The meet-ups were a huge success when we held them for the Euros – they were a great opportunity for fans to meet up with people from previous tournaments and make new connections.
“It’s a great way to help build up that community among fans who travel to tournaments and we look forward to it!”
