Blues trio recognised at PFA Awards

From the official Chelsea FC website:

Guro Reiten, Sam Kerr and Lauren James have received individual plaudits at the Professional Footballers’ Association awards ceremony on Tuesday evening.

Our Blues trio enjoyed a hugely successful season where they helped us towards a fourth consecutive WSL title alongside a third successive FA Cup triumph, and now their individual performances have seen them recognised with PFA awards.

All three Chelsea stars played pivotal roles in our 2022/23 Double-winning season. As a result, Reiten and Kerr have earned places in the PFA’s WSL Team of the Year, while James has been named the PFA Young Player of the Year.

Reiten enjoyed an excellent season for the Blues last time out where she managed 13 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions. Her creativity, consistency and quality did not go unnoticed at domestic level and she has been named in the PFA WSL Team of the Year for the second year in a row.

It was another remarkable season for Kerr, who netted 29 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions and registered her 100th Blues appearance. She appears in the PFA WSL Team of the Year for a third time, adding to several individual accolades the Australian received last season.

An exceptional young talent, James continued to shine on our way to the WSL and FA Cup double. This award adds to her personal tally after she was crowned Women’s Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards in March.

Congratulations Guro, Sam and Lauren!
