In our final Women’s Super League match of the year, we travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City. Here is all you need to know…

Our last league encounter of 2024 sees us make the trip to the Foxes where Sonia Bompastor’s side will be looking to make it 10 WSL wins from 10. We have won each of our nine games thus far and sit five points clear at the top of the table.

Where and when

We face Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Saturday 14 December, with kick-off scheduled for 12pm.

Across all competitions, we have won 14 consecutive matches this term having picked up a victory in each of our five UEFA Champions League group matches. Ahead of our clash with the Foxes, we defeated FC Twente 6-1 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Our opponents sit 11th in the WSL table with five points. Amandine Miquel’s side have won one match, drawn twice and lost on six occasions.

Recent head-to-head

Chelsea won both league meetings between the two sides last season, with nine goals scored and only two conceded across both matches.

In our home fixture at Kingsmeadow, we prevailed with a 5-2 victory thanks to a Lauren James brace, goals from Beever-Jones and Sam Kerr, and an own goal. On the road, we defeated Leicester 4-0 with Nathalie BjornMayra Ramirez, Rytting Kaneryd, and Catarina Macario all on the scoresheet.

The form

Bompastor’s side are guaranteed to go into the winter break sitting top of the WSL table thanks to a five-point advantage at the summit ahead of our final league encounter.

The Blues have won all nine of our league games thus far, with our most recent victory being a 4-2 win against Brighton & Hove Albion at Kingsmeadow last weekend. Sjoeke Nusken netted a brace, while Aggie Beever-Jones and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd were also on the scoresheet.
