The form
After a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the weekend, the Blues remain unbeaten this season, with six wins and three draws in the Women’s Super League and two wins and a draw in the UWCL after beating St. Polten 6-0 last time out.
Goals from Wieke Kaptein, Catarina Macario and Sam Kerr – the latter’s first start in nearly two years – made sure we saw off the challenge from the Austrian side.
Elsewhere, Barcelona also head into the contest unbeaten in the Champions League, with three wins in three putting them at the top of the League Phase standings.
Recent head-to-head
The Blues and Barcelona have never met this early in the competition before, with all seven of our prior meetings coming in either the semi-finals or final of the Women’s Champions League.
Most recently, the Catalans got the better of us during the 24/25 campaign, beating us over two legs in the semi-finals of the UWCL, with Sonia Bompastor‘s side looking to make amends for those defeats in April.
