Date set for FA Cup semi-final against Leeds
From the official Chelsea FC website:
The date and kick-off time for Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United at Wembley has been confirmed.
The Blues secured a spot in the last four of the competition with a convincing 7-0 victory over League One side Port Vale on Saturday. Strikes from Jorrel Hato, Joao Pedro, Tosin Adarabioyo, Andrey Santos, Estevao Willian, Alejandro Garnacho and an own goal from Jordan Lawrence-Gabriel sealed our win.
Leeds, in contrast, advanced to the semi-finals via a penalty shootout victory over West Ham United. Daniel Farke’s side had established a two-goal lead at the London Stadium before being pegged back in normal time and, following an additional 30 minutes, overcoming the Irons from 12 yards.
Chelsea and Leeds have history in the FA Cup, and the next chapter will be written on Sunday 26 April, with kick-off at Wembley scheduled for 3pm. Ticket information will follow in due course.
The fixture will be a repeat of the historic 1970 FA Cup final between the two sides, which Chelsea won after a replay at Old Trafford.
Our only meeting with Leeds in the Cup since that classic was two years ago, when we won a rollercoaster fifth round tie 3-2 at Stamford Bridge courtesy of Conor Gallagher’s 90th-minute goal.
