Chelsea Women vs Man United Women preview: Kick-off time, where to watch live and more!
From the official Chelsea FC website:
Chelsea Women host Manchester United Women at Kingsmeadow in a massive game for the Women’s Super League title fight.
This could prove to be the match of the season in terms of the battle at the top of the Women’s Super League table, with almost nothing separating Chelsea and Manchester United in what is turning out to be arguably the most open title fight in the league’s history.
After getting straight back to winning ways by beating Brighton & Hove Albion in the WSL in midweek, the Blues are now just one point behind our table-topping next opponents, with an extra game to play, meaning a victory over Man United this weekend would put us in first place.
When and where?
Chelsea Women are at home on Sunday 12 March, with Manchester United the visitors to Kingsmeadow.
Kick-off time
The match is scheduled to start at 12.30pm.
Where to watch

The form
Having suffered our first defeat in any competition since the opening day of the season at Liverpool in last week’s Continental League Cup final against Arsenal, Chelsea Women showed the perfect response by bouncing straight back with a comfortable 3-1 WSL win over Brighton on Wednesday evening, with Guro Reiten, Jess Carter and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd giving the Blues a healthy lead before the Seagull’s late consolation goal.
That made it back-to-back wins in the WSL as well, following our 3-2 victory at Tottenham, although that was a month earlier, with cup competitions having taken priority during most of February.
League leaders Manchester United have been particularly impressive on the road this season, being the only team still unbeaten away from home in the WSL in 2022/23, with six wins and one draw, including victory in all three of their visits to London so far.
They are also on a current run of three wins in a row in all competitions, following a 5-1 thrashing of Leicester City in the league last time out, and have only conceded eight goals all season.
With Chelsea unbeaten in the WSL since September and United without defeat since November, there is a decent chance someone’s long run will come to an end this weekend.
Chelsea Women vs Man United Women recent head-to-head record
Man Utd’s only loss in the WSL this season came at the hands of Chelsea in November, when Lauren James, Sam Kerr and Erin Cuthbert gave us a 3-1 away win, accounting for three of those eight goals United have conceded in 2022/23.
Furthermore, despite the Red Devils’ impressive record in London recently, they have lost on all three of their previous WSL visits to Kingsmeadow, including their biggest-ever defeat in the competition when Chelsea recorded a 6-1 win in September 2021.
So far, Chelsea have triumphed in five of the six WSL meetings between these two sides, scoring 17 goals in the process.
Next up for the Blues
The WSL takes a pause next week as attention moves to the Women’s FA Cup. Chelsea are away in the quarter-finals, travelling to Reading on Sunday 19 March for a 2pm kick-off.
