After spending the last ten days with their respective national teams, Sonia Bompastor‘s side will be back to league business against the Seagulls where we will be looking to pick up where we left off before the international window.
Chelsea go into this weekend unbeaten across all competitions and sitting seven points clear at the top of the WSL table with 40 points after 14 games played.
Where and when
We return to league duty to face Brighton at Broadfield Stadium where kick-off is scheduled for 3pm.

The form
Sonia Bompastor’s side are yet to taste defeat this season, with all but one match – a draw with Leicester in December – ending in victory. Those results have helped the Blues consolidate their place at the league summit, sitting seven points clear of second-placed Manchester United.
Our most recent WSL encounter saw us come from 1-0 down to defeat Everton 2-1 at Kingsmeadow. Mayra Ramirez netted the equaliser just before the hour mark, before Lauren James scored a last-gasp winner in injury time.
This weekend’s hosts currently sit fifth in the standings with 18 points. The Seagulls are unbeaten in their last seven WSL home games, but have not won in the league since a 3-1 victory against West Ham United in mid-November.
Recent head-to-head
When the sides met in Kingston back in December for the reverse fixture, it proved to be an entertaining six-goal thriller as the Blues prevailed with a 4-2 win.
Bompastor’s side took a 2-0 lead through Sjoeke Nusken and Aggie Beever-Jones, before former Chelsea midfielder Jelena Cankovic halved the deficit. Johanna Rytting Kaneryd made it 3-1 early in the second half, but our two-goal lead was again reduced when Kiko Seike netted for Brighton. Our fourth goal arrived in injury time, with Nusken securing her brace to make it 4-2.
