Fan Advisory Board – election results unveiled

From the official Chelsea FC website:

A three-month process to select three supporters to act as representatives on Chelsea Football Club’s Fan Advisory Board reaches its conclusion today with the announcement of the successful candidates.

In November last year it was announced that with the Fan Advisory Board (FAB) into its third year of operation, an election would take place to determine who serves in the positions due for renewal for the subsequent three-year term. The club working closely with the FAB is part of our overall Fan Engagement Plan and this election was held in accordance with the FAB’s terms of reference.

Nominations were put forward by both supporter groups and individuals, and after a strong voting turnout from their fellow fans, the club can announce the representatives voted in are:

Neil Beard

Neil is a men’s team season ticket holder and maintains his position on the board for a further three years. He will also hold the position of FAB chair.

He said: ‘I’m delighted and honoured to have been re-elected to the Chelsea FAB. I really appreciate all those who voted and congratulate and look forward to working with the new members of the FAB. I will continue to represent, to the best of my abilities, supporters views on strategic issues with the decision makers at Chelsea FC, using their mandate as we go into the second term of the FAB.’

Tracey Chapman

Tracey is a men’s team season ticket holder and was nominated from the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust.

She said: ‘It’s an honour to join the Fan Advisory Board, and I want to thank everyone who voted for me. Chelsea fans are passionate, loyal and fiercely proud, and I’ll bring that same spirit into this role. I will listen openly, speak honestly and act in the best interests of our supporters.’

Anna Phillips

Anna is the supporter who will represent the Chelsea Women fanbase and is a women’s team season ticket holder and True Blue member. She was nominated from the Chelsea Women Supporters Group.

She said: ‘I’m really proud to be elected to the Fan Advisory Board. Following both Chelsea men’s and women’s teams is a big part of my life, and I care deeply about the future of the club and the continued growth of the women’s game. I’m excited to get started on the FAB and am committed to representing supporter views and ensuring our voices are heard.’

FAB structure

All three representatives will also hold the supporter advisors to the board positions that were previously established, as part of their roles on the FAB.

They will join the four existing selected FAB members and will work alongside the departing supporter advisors to the board, Gary Beckwith and Tracy Brown, until the end of the season. We thank Tracy and Gary for their service on the FAB. Through her work with Chelsea Pride and the Chelsea Women’s Supporters Group, Tracy will be continuing to engage with the club on a regular basis.

Lord Daniel Finkelstein OBE, Chelsea FC’s nominated board-level official overseeing fan engagement, said: ‘I am really excited about the quality of candidates for the FAB election and the large turnout, which shows how much interest there is. The FAB has really worked, helping shape the club’s decisions and I am really looking forward to working with the new representatives.’

The FAB is regularly consulted and engaged by the club on key long-term, strategic issues that impact supporters. The supporter advisors to the board attend club board meetings to ensure supporter sentiment is considered as part of the club’s decision-making process.

Note:
Thank you to everyone that voted for me, much appreciated.
Peter
