Ron Harris And Tommy Docherty Evening
In 1967, Chelsea manager, Tommy Docherty was trying to sell Tony Hateley to Liverpool.
He rang Bill Shankly, and after giving Tony a glowing description, he said “A hundred thousand wouldn’t buy him, Bill.” To which Shankly replied “Aye, and I’m one of them, now f**k off !”
This and many more Chelsea stories will be told by Tommy Docherty at The Duke of Edinburgh in Ascot on Monday, 27th February.
This has just been confirmed today and tickets are £20 per person including a hot buffet.
All previous ‘old boys’ evenings sell out quickly so don’t hang around if you are looking to attend, full details on how to get your tickets can be found here.
Went to my local in December to see them, was a great night with Tommy in great form.Only down side was some hanger on with them who seamed to want to promote the raffle(the money for said rafle is not split but kept by the bloke running it )
