Everything You Need To Know About Chelsea’s Summer 2022

Another season may have drawn to a close but there is still plenty to look forward to this summer as a Chelsea fan, and here are all the key dates you need to know…
Pre-season tour 2022
These games are part of a week-long ‘Clash of Nations’ tour and the Blues will begin our trio of fixtures against Club America on Saturday 16 July in Las Vegas.
We will then head to North Carolina to take on Charlotte FC on Wednesday 20 July. The tour ends with a stateside derby against Arsenal in Orlando on Saturday 23 July.
Premier League fixtures
Next season’s fixtures will be released at 9am (UK) on Thursday 16 June.
Premier League dates
The 2022/23 Premier League season will begin on the weekend of 6 and 7 August.
Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest are the teams joining the English top flight, while Norwich City, Watford and Burnley were all relegated to the EFL Championship.
There will be a break for the World Cup in Qatar following the 16th round of matches on 12 and 13 November 2022, before the campaign resumes on Boxing Day.
The final game of the season will be on Sunday 28 May.
Summer transfer window
The 2022 summer transfer window for Premier League clubs will open on Friday 10 June and will close at 11pm (UK) on Thursday 1 September.
Champions League group stage draw
The Blues will enter the group stages after finishing third in the league, and will discover which three sides we will play on Thursday 25 August. Chelsea are in pot two for the draw. Matchday one is on either 6 or 7 September.
In the women’s competition, Emma Hayes’s Blues enter in the group stages alongside Barcelona, Wolfsburg and Lyon. Matchday one is on either 19 or 20 October.
Women’s Euros
Chelsea may be well represented at this summer’s European Championships, which takes place between Wednesday 6 July and Sunday 31 July.
Millie Bright, Jess Carter, Niamh Charles, Fran Kirby and Beth England have all been named in the Lionesses’ provisional 28-woman squad.
