Vote for Chelsea’s February Goal of the Month

It’s time for February’s Goal of the Month competition and there are six nominated goals from across our men’s, women’s and Academy sides for you to pick from.
Men’s representation on the shortlist is in the form of Joao Felix‘s goal at West Ham United, while our women’s side also have goals against the Hammers in the vote, plus another from a London derby at Spurs.
The other goals come courtesy of two Academy crackers as Omari Hutchinson and Dion Rankine make the cut for goals in our 3-2 PL2 win at Blackburn.

Joao Felix vs West Ham
The lively Joao Felix netted his first Blues goal early on in the draw at West Ham earlier this month, a goal created by a maiden Chelsea assist from the impressive Enzo Fernandez.
The Argentinian dinked a lovely cross into the box before Joao volleyed home from 12 yards, after connecting well with the lofted pass.
Fran Kirby vs West Ham
Fran Kirby‘s goal in our 7-0 rout over the Hammers is also up for nomination.
It did look like Lauren James was running down a blind alley near our own corner flag, but she dribbled her way out of danger, exchanged passes with Kerr and released Kirby through on goal. She finished with ease on her left, rounding off a wonderful team goal. This goal made it 2-0 Chelsea, and scarcely 10 minutes had been played.
Lauren James vs West Ham
The keeper could do nothing to prevent our fifth goal in this one. Sophie Ingle had impressively weighted a pass into James’s feet, and she cut inside the defender before thumping a shot past Mackenzie Arnold, courtesy of a minor deflection.
Lauren James vs Tottenham Hotspur
The Women’s Super League’s Goal of the Month for February was deservedly handed to Lauren James and that strike at Brisbane Road is of course up for this month’s Chelsea prize.
After picking the ball up on the right-hand side, James drifted infield and continued her run into the penalty area, skipping past three attempted challenges before nestling the ball perfectly into the far corner to restore our lead.
Dion Rankine vs Blackburn
Two goals from our development squad victory in Lancashire are the final two strikes up for the award.
Dion Rankine’s leveller in the clash was a stunning goal in terms of team involvement, after Omari Hutchinson and Harvey Vale had exchanged some quick passes on the edge of the area.
Omari Hutchinson vs Blackburn
Hutchinson showed exactly why he has made strides towards a chance among the senior team at Chelsea with this match-winning strike at Blackburn.
Teasing the Rovers’ left-back wide on the right, Omari cut onto his left side, looking as if he was going to shoot, before reverting back onto his weaker right-foot before smashing the ball home via a deflection on the line in the 91st minute.
