We earned a hugely valuable victory against Marc Skinner’s Man United side on home turf on Sunday 12 March, which took us back to the top of the Women’s Super League table momentarily as the title race intensified.

Lauren James showed wonderful vision to pick out Kerr with a pin-point long range aerial pass, the latter controlling wonderfully before delicately lifting the ball over Mary Earps and into the far corner in clinical fashion.

Kerr beat Arsenal’s Caitlin Foord, Manchester City’s Lauren Hemp, Aston Villa’s Rachel Daly, Reading’s Rachel Rowe, and two nominees from Tottenham Hotspur in the form of Celin Bezit Ildhusoy and Bethany England to this accolade.

Our Australian striker netted her 50th Barclays WSL goal during the 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at the Poundland Bescot Stadium last Sunday. Her clinical finish helped secure three points which saw us move into second place, one point behind leaders Manchester United with a game in-hand.

The Blues are on international duty but return to domestic action with an FA Cup semi-final trip to Aston Villa on Sunday 16 April, with kick-off at 2.15pm (UK time) at the Poundland Bescot Stadium and the match will be broadcast live on the BBC.
