We currently sit two points clear at the summit thanks to last weekend’s 2-0 win against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. Sonia Bompastor’s side could create a five-point gap if we claim an eighth consecutive league victory when we host United.

We play Manchester United at Kingsmeadow on Sunday 24 November, with kick-off scheduled for 12pm.

The form
Bompastor’s side stormed to the top of the table last weekend after beating Manchester City 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. That victory extends our winning start to the league campaign with seven wins from a possible seven.
That streak currently stands at 11 matches in all competitions, with the Blues also having won each of our four Group B matches in the UEFA Champions League and have qualified for the knockouts with two games to spare.
In Manchester United, Chelsea will face the only other side who are yet to lose a match in the WSL this season. The Red Devils sit fifth with 15 points, winning four matches and drawing three.
Recent head-to-head
Our last meeting with Manchester United proved to be a memorable encounter. An emphatic 6-0 win at Old Trafford on the final day of last term secured Chelsea a fifth consecutive WSL title.
Mayra Ramirez netted a brace, while Johanna Rytting Kaneryd, Sjoeke Nusken, Melanie Leupolz and Fran Kirby were all on the scoresheet en route to the league trophy.
The reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge in January saw the Blues prevail with a 3-1 win, with Lauren James netting a hat-trick against her former club.
Although we are unbeaten in our previous nine matches against Manchester United in the WSL, the Blues were defeated 2-1 by the same opponents in last season’s FA Cup semi-final.
