Away draw for Under-21s in Premier League Cup
From the official Chelsea FC website:
Chelsea Under-21s have been drawn away to Burnley in the Premier League Cup quarter-finals.
We’ve been on an exciting journey in the Premier League Cup so far, finishing top of our group thanks to wins over Brentford, Bournemouth and Derby, before triumphing in the last 16.
Our last outing saw us come from behind to claim a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town at Kingsmeadow. After trailing at half-time, a Shumaira Mheuka penalty brought us level before schoolboy Ryan Kavuma-McQueen struck a dramatic last-minute winner to secure our spot in the quarter-finals.
Next we face a tough challenge away at the Chorley Group Victory Park Stadium on Monday 7 April, with kick-off at 7pm, as we continue our journey in the competition.
Burnley have been in impressive form themselves in this competition, finishing top of their group unbeaten with five wins and one draw, defeating teams such as Brighton, Luton and Reading. They secured their place in the quarter-finals with a 1-0 win over Sunderland.
In other Academy fixture news, Chelsea Under-18s’ away league game at Fulham on Tuesday 15 April will now kick-off at 5pm.
