How to watch Chelsea vs Barcelona in Women’s Champions League semi-final
From the official Chelsea FC website:
Chelsea travel to Barcelona for their UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona on Sunday. Here’s everything you need to know about another huge game for the Blues…
Sonia Bompastor‘s remarkable first season in charge of Chelsea continues. A stoppage-time win over Liverpool saw us reach the FA Cup final last Saturday, and there’s another huge clash to come this weekend.
Sunday will see us face European powerhouse Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final for the third season in a row, as we bid to reach our third final of the campaign in Lisbon on May 24.
Where and when
We will face Barcelona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Sunday 20 April. Kick off is scheduled for 5pm UK time.
How to follow
As always, you can follow minute-by-minute updates in our Barcelona Femenino v Chelsea Women Match Centre on the official Chelsea website and app. You can also follow through Chelsea Women’s social media channels on X, Facebook and Instagram.
The match will be shown live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK and will be available for free on DAZN via their website or YouTube channel.
The form
Chelsea have been beaten just once in all competitions this season. That was a 2-0 defeat away at Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final, a scoreline that was reversed with a 3-0 comeback win at Stamford Bridge in the second leg.
Domestically, we sit three points clear of Arsenal with a game in hand at the top of the Women’s Super League, with a superb record of 15 wins and three draws in our opening 18 matches under Bompastor.

Meanwhile, Barcelona also sit top of Liga F in Spain, four points clear of Real Madrid in second. Pere Romeu’s side have been beaten twice in the league this season, succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to Levante in February, and a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid on March 23.
El Femení have also made it through to the final of the Copa de la Reina this season, and will face Atletico Madrid on June 8.
Recent head-to-head
We have faced Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals in the last two consecutive seasons, having also lost to the Catalans in the final back in 2021.
A narrow 1-0 defeat at home in 2023 was followed by a 1-1 draw in Barcelona, before our 1-0 away win last season – which broke their run of five years unbeaten at home – was overturned by a 2-0 result, which saw us go down to ten players with the tie level.
We face a side who have reached the Champions League final for the last four consecutive seasons, and made it through to the semi-finals for the last seven years in a row.
Barca are looking to make it three consecutive Women’s Champions League titles, while we will be hoping to secure our first victory in the competition.
This will be a true clash of the titans, with a place in the Lisbon final at stake by the end of the two legs.

Let’s get this Conference Cup done and dusted and next season we’ll stuff all and sundry on the way to silverware.
