How to watch Chelsea vs Man Utd in the Women’s FA Cup final

From the official Chelsea FC website:

It’s been an incredible first season at Chelsea for Sonia Bompastor. Last weekend saw us lift the Women’s Super League trophy following an unbeaten league campaign, but it’s not over yet.

Blues fans are set to turn out in their numbers at Wembley Stadium once again to cheer on this record-breaking side for one final time this season following last weekend’s title celebrations.

Having already topped the table in the WSL, and lifted the League Cup trophy back in March, a win against Manchester United would add the FA Cup crown to complete that domestic treble.

Where and when

We will face Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 18 May, with kick-off scheduled for 1:30pm UK time.

How to follow

As always, you can follow minute-by-minute updates in our Chelsea vs Man Utd Match Centre on the official Chelsea website and app. You can also follow through Chelsea Women’s social media channels on XFacebook and Instagram.

The match will be shown live on BBC One in the UK.

The form

Chelsea are the WSL champions, with 19 wins and three draws from 22 total games.

With Aggie Beever-Jones on the scoresheet in stoppage time against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge last weekend, the Blues have also passed the 100-goal marker in all competitions this season.

Meanwhile, Manchester United secured Champions League football for next season with a 2-2 draw against neighbours Manchester City on the penultimate game of the WSL campaign.

While that secured their overall objective, Marc Skinner’s side then fell to a 4-3 defeat in an exciting clash with Arsenal last weekend.

Recent head-to-head

We have faced Manchester United on two occasions already this season, and both have been cagey affairs.

A 17th-minute penalty from Guro Reiten handed us a win in the league against the Reds at Kingsmeadow in November, and the return fixture marked a special moment in our season.

Another 1-0 win, this time at Leigh Sports Village, was the game that sealed the title at the end of April. Lucy Bronze‘s header made the difference on the night, as Hannah Hampton pulled off multiple saves to keep Man Utd at bay.

That meant the celebrations could begin, as the title was sealed with two matches still to play, but those two encounters prove that it will not be easy to be on the winning end of Sunday’s FA Cup final.
