Support those who made the club what it is today
From the official Chelsea FC website:
Chelsea supporters will now have the option to donate to the Chelsea Players’ Trust when purchasing general admission match-by-match tickets and in turn, help support the welfare of our former players.
When purchasing general admission match-by-match tickets, supporters will see an option to donate directly to the Chelsea Players’ Trust within the new digital ticketing system.
Through the Chelsea Players’ Trust, Chelsea Football Club and Chelsea Foundation provides medical, wellbeing and welfare assistance for any of our former players, from young people who have come through the Academy to ex-men’s and women’s professional players.
John Boyle, who was part of the 1965 League Cup and 1971 European Cup Winners’ Cup winning squads, spoke of the support he has received through the Chelsea Players’ Trust.

‘Ten years ago my daughter died and then my wife became unwell,’ he said, ‘so I had to look after her. I spoke to the club and Foundation about problems with my mortgage and they sorted that out and helped me with a job on matchdays, and I have a great time meeting all the Chelsea fans. Sadly, my wife died recently, and the club and Foundation came to the rescue again, looked after everything and really helped me out. I am so grateful.’
Any donations made through the match-by-match ticket purchases will go directly to the Chelsea Players’ Trust.

Chelsea FC and Chelsea Foundation help raise money for our former players through activities such as Legends matches, with our most recent contest against Liverpool Legends at Anfield raising significant funds for the Chelsea Players’ Trust.
Laura Cordingley, chief executive of Chelsea Foundation, said: ‘Chelsea’s past players are an integral part of our community and through the Chelsea Players’ Trust, Chelsea FC and Chelsea Foundation are fully committed to supporting the welfare of those who made the club what it is today.
‘We would like to thank the Fan Advisory Board for their support in implementing the optional donation into match-by-match ticket sales and would like to thank in advance any supporters who are able to donate. We aspire to have the best past Players’ Trust in the world and these funds will be crucial in making that happen.’

Tracy Brown and Neil Beard, co-chairs of the Fan Advisory Board, said: ‘As representatives of Chelsea supporters through the Fan Advisory Board, we are incredibly proud to support the Chelsea Players’ Trust. The players who have worn the Chelsea shirt with pride deserve our unwavering support, not just during their playing days, but throughout their lives.
‘John Boyle’s story is deeply moving and reminds us that behind every former player is a human being who may face challenges we can all relate to. The FAB is passionate about ensuring our club remains a family that looks after its own, and we’re honoured to help make this donation option available to fellow supporters. Every penny supporters can afford to donate to the Chelsea Players’ Trust, will go directly to helping players like John who really need our support.
‘We encourage all Chelsea fans to consider contributing when purchasing their match tickets. Every donation helps us care for those who gave their all for our beloved club. This is what makes Chelsea special, we never forget those who helped build our proud history.
The Foundation’s work extends far beyond football, and we’re committed to supporting their vital efforts in our community. Together, we can ensure Chelsea continues to be a club that truly cares.’
