Four Blues called up by England
From the official Chelsea FC website:
Reece James and Ben Chilwell are back in the England squad having missed the World Cup through injury, and they are joined there by Chelsea team-mates Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher.
It is the first squad named by Gareth Southgate since the Three Lions’ quarter-final exit to France in Qatar in December. England start their Euro 2024 qualification campaign in this international window with games away to Italy and at home to Ukraine.
A knee injury forced James to miss the World Cup. He won the most recent of his 15 caps in September 2022, providing an assist in the 3-3 draw with Germany.
Chilwell suffered a significant hamstring injury just a few days before Southgate announced his World Cup squad, but he has been back to his best in recent weeks and will be looking to add to his 17 caps in the next fortnight.
Raheem Sterling is not included in the squad. Southgate said he would have been picked him but unfortunately he is not fit.

Academy midfielder Ben Elliott has been called up to the senior Cameroon squad. The midfielder, a key member of our high-flying development squad, had represented England youth teams earlier in his career. He is eligible for the Indomitable Lions, managed by Rigobert Song, through his father.
