Suggs to perform at Legends of Europe

From the official Chelsea FC website:

Lifelong Chelsea fan – and legendary lead singer of Madness – Suggs will take to the pitch during half-time of the Legends of Europe match for a not-to-be-missed performance.

Rolling back the years to the 90s, Suggs will perform the Chelsea anthem ‘Blue Day’, a song that was originally released in 1997 and coincided with our successful FA Cup winning campaign of that year.

Further musical entertainment will be provided by opera singer Stuart Pendred, who will perform a tribute to Gianluca Vialli prior to kick-off. The British tenor, who sang at Vialli’s wedding, will perform ‘Nessun Dorma’ – the aria which wrote itself into football folklore by becoming the theme song of the 1990 World Cup in Italy.

Tickets on sale now

Join us for the action at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea Legends take on Bayern Legends in tribute to our former striker and manager, Vialli. Tickets are still available from £17.50, with all proceeds going to the Chelsea Foundation and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, where the legendary Italian was treated prior to his sad passing in January of this year.

Chelsea’s legendary line up

While Suggs will be providing the entertainment at half-time, there’s no shortage of quality on the pitch either with many great Chelsea names already confirmed to feature.

Set to step out onto the pitch under Roberto Di Matteo’s management will be John Terry, Gianfranco Zola, Michael Essien, Claude Makelele, Carlo Cudicini, Tore Andre Flo, Frank Leboeuf, Salomon Kalou, Florent Malouda, Gary Cahill, Jody Morris and many more.
