Premier League Cup group fixtures announced

Chelsea Under-21s have learned our Premier League Cup opponents as we prepare to kick off the competition by hosting Brentford at Kingsmeadow in our first fixture after the international break.
Filipe Coelho‘s side will face Brentford, Bournemouth and Derby County home and away during the group stages of the Premier League Cup.
The competition has been expanded to include 40 academy teams across categories one to four this season. The teams are divided into 10 groups of four, with each team playing the others in its group twice.
Another change this season means that only the top team in each group will qualify, along with the best six runners-up across all groups.
We will begin our cup campaign against Brentford on Sunday 15 September, at our home ground Kingsmeadow, with a kick-off time of 12pm. The Blues conclude the group stage by welcoming Derby for a Friday night kick-off on 31 January, at 7pm.
