Chelsea’s Conference League quarter-finals opponents confirmed

From the official Chelsea FC website:

Following the conclusion of tonight’s UEFA Conference League Round of 16 ties, we can now confirm who Chelsea will play in the quarter-final of this competition.

The Blues progressed past Copenhagen 3-1 on aggregate after this evening’s 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.

The winner of the Legia Warsaw vs Molde tie awaited. Molde won the first leg in Norway 3-2 last week, and today in Poland Legia overturned that deficit after extra-time. They won 2-0 tonight, to progress 4-3 on aggregate.

That means we will face Legia Warsaw in the quarter-finals, with the first leg at 5.45pm UK time on Thursday 10 April, and the return a week later, on Thursday 17 April at 8pm.

Because Tottenham advanced past AZ Alkmaar this evening, we will now be away in the first leg in Poland, and at home at Stamford Bridge on 17 April.

Ticket information for both games will follow in due course.

  • It is plain to see that our team needs seasoned professionals, leaders that have experience at the top level of football. The policy of signing numerous teenage prospects is not going to help this present young, unseasoned team take this club to where it needs to be. Three fallow years is too long for a club like Chelsea who are used to rubbing shoulders with the best and winning trophies. The other worry is that if we keep signing these skilful youngsters and fanning them out to our sister club or keep selling them on after a few years for profit, these very young talents and their agents/clubs will soon realise that most will never get the chance to play for Chelsea and consequently will stop coming here. Once labelled with his unwanted reputation it will be difficult to expunge.
