Brighton vs Chelsea preview: Kick-off time, where to watch and more!

Chelsea are on the road in the Barclays Women’s Super League with a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion at Broadfield Stadium on Saturday evening.
Emma Hayes’ side have made a faultless start to 2024 with three consecutive victories across three separate competitions. West Ham United, Manchester United and Real Madrid have been overcome so far this month.
Having secured our passage into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League in midweek, we return to domestic action with a visit to Brighton & Hove Albion where victory in the first match of the weekend would see us move six points clear at the top of the table.
However, we face a Brighton side who are also on a run of three straight wins since the turn of the year.
When and where?
We travel to Brighton & Hove Albion for our first away fixture of 2024. The game takes place on Saturday 27 January, with kick-off at 5.30pm (UK time).

The form
We occupy top spot in the WSL going into the weekend and hold a three-point lead over second-placed Manchester City.
As the only game to be played on Saturday, a positive result at Brighton would see us extend our advantage to six points ahead of the remaining fixtures on Sunday.
After nine wins, one draw and one defeat from our opening 11 league matches, we have accumulated 28 points from 33 available. With 35 goals scored and 12 conceded in the process, we possess a goal difference of 23 – level with Manchester City in second.
As for Brighton, they occupy eighth with 11 points having registered three wins and two draws while suffering six defeats to date. They have scored 13 goals and conceded 24 leaving them with a goal difference of -11.
Sjoeke Nusken was involved in all four of Chelsea’s goals against Brighton earlier this season in the WSL, scoring a hat-trick and assisting Aggie Beever-Jones’ goal.
The most goals a Chelsea player has scored or assisted against an opponent in a single WSL season is seven (Fran Kirby vs Reading in 2020- 21, six goals & one assist).

Our previous meeting with Brighton came at Kingsmeadow back in October where we ran out 4-2 winners in an entertaining six-goal encounter that saw two landmark moments.
Summer signing Nusken scored her first career hat-trick and assisted Beever-Jones to score her first Chelsea goal.
